Audio Visualizer in action

Turn your Akai Fire into a real-time audio-reactive light show! The new visualizer listens to your system audio and drives the pads with vibrant animations.

Choose from three modes: Classic Spectrum Bars (a graphic EQ), Pulse Wave (a sweeping bar of light), or the pro-level Dual VU + Spectrum. All modes have deep customization options for colors, sensitivity, and smoothness that can be tweaked live!

Painting pads directly in PixelForge

Take direct control of all 64 RGB pads. The new Primary/Secondary color picker allows for a professional workflow: left-click to paint with your main color, right-click to paint with your secondary color (or erase).

Then, bring your ideas to life with the Animator Studio: a visual timeline for crafting frame-by-frame animations. Add, delete, duplicate, copy/paste frames with ease, and manage all your animation sequences with built-in file management.

Turn your pads into a dynamic, real-time reflection of your desktop! Select any region on any connected monitor, and watch as PixelForge translates the on-screen colors to your controller.

Fine-tune the output with live adjustments for Saturation, Contrast, Brightness, and Hue. But the real power lies in recording...

Creative Use Cases for Recording:

  • Record music visualizers from YouTube or Spotify.
  • Capture cinematic moments from movies or game trailers.
  • Turn any GIF from sites like GIPHY into a unique pad animation.
  • Sample abstract art videos for dynamic, flowing color patterns.

The workflow is simple: find a cool video, position the sampler, hit record, and let PixelForge build a complex animation for you automatically!

✨ OLED WIZARDRY: CUSTOM TEXT, IMAGES & DITHERED GIFS

Transform the 128x64 monochrome screen into your personal message board or micro-cinema. The OLED Content Library Manager is your hub for creating, editing, and saving all your custom screen assets.

Advanced Image Processing:

Import static images or animated GIFs and harness a deep processing pipeline to get the perfect look:

  • Pre-Dithering: Adjust Brightness, Contrast, and use Gamma to bring out mid-tones in dark images, or Sharpen to make logos pop.
  • Dithering Arsenal: Choose Floyd-Steinberg for smooth photographic gradients, or Ordered Dithering (Bayer) for a chunky, retro, pixel-art feel.
  • Fine Control: Utilize Variable Dither Strength and add stylistic Noise Injection to achieve gritty, lo-fi effects.

Set any of your creations as the default "Active Graphic" that displays on startup, and use the UI icon to manually pause and resume your animations.

That's right! PixelForge includes LazyDOOM, a bespoke retro first-person shooter experience running entirely on your Akai Fire.

Gameplay Highlights:

  • Navigate unique, procedurally generated mazes on the 128x64 OLED—each with a new layout, ensuring no two playthroughs are the same.
  • Battle "Imp" enemies with classic hitscan shooting. Circle-strafe to dodge their projectiles!
  • Full pad-based controls for movement, turning, and actions for a true console-like feel. (Keyboard support also included).
  • Manage your HP with a real-time display on both the OLED and a dedicated row of RGB pads.
  • Choose from multiple difficulty levels for an escalating challenge.
  • Immersive Feedback: Feel every hit with on-screen damage glitches and dynamic RGB pad lighting that reflects game events.
  • Game Over & Restart: Fallen in battle? The 'SHOOT' pad will blink, letting you jump right back into the action for another attempt!
